Multiple award-winning New Zealand author Catherine Chidgey is in the UK in October to discuss her latest novel, Pet, which probes themes of racism, misogyny and the oppressive reaches of Catholicism in 1980’s New Zealand.

What: Joining Catherine Chidgey will be former director of English PEN, Catherine Taylor, whose recently published memoir, The Stirrings, is an account of growing up in South Yorkshire in the 1970s and 80s. Chaired by biographer and critic Lucasta Miller, this promises to be a fascinating discussion on girlhood and young womanhood from two stand-out authors.
