Special concert to celebrate the life of ‘lion man’ John Rendall
May 25, 2022 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

The late Australian author John Rendall, who famously bought a lion from Harrods in 1969 that he would walk around London, will be commemorated with a special concert in Chelsea next month. John was a trustee of the Tait Memorial Trust, which supports Australian and New Zealand musicians and artists while residing in the UK. He passed away earlier this year, age 76, after a long battle with the after-effects of Covid.
“He was always so kind and friendly to everyone, and totally original in everything he did,’ says Isla Baring OAM, Chairman of the Tait Memorial Trust. “His Australian humour and ‘joie de vivre’ always led us astray! His knowledge of Africa and wildlife was extraordinary (not to mention his daring!) and how he managed his hectic social life, and his deep love for his family.”
Presented by Ross Alley | Musical director: Chad Vindin
Featuring Tait Awardees & Dancers from Australia & New Zealand
Guest artists Rambert School and English National Ballet School
John proudly opened the proceedings for their last concert, which you can watch HERE.
