The Royal Correspondent – book launch party
June 6 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The Royal Correspondent, the latest book by Australian author Alexandra Joel, will be published in the UK on 25 May – and there will be a suitably fabulous launch party for it on 6 June, with limited spaces available for FANZA supporters.
If you would like to attend please contact Lyndel Harrison (lyndelharrison1@gmail.com). Entrance will be strictly by invitation only. Photo ID will be required.
Described as ‘historical facts and fabulous fiction’ and published by Harper Collins, this intriguing tale combines espionage with royal romance and the glamour of 60s London. A young Australian reporter with a deadly secret finds herself in the London heart of the Murdoch media empire.
Alexandra Joel is the former editor of Harper’s Bazaar and of Portfolio – Australia’s first magazine for “working women” – and has been a regular contributor to The Australian and The Sydney Morning Herald Good Weekend Magazine.
Joel says of her new book: “It’s so hard to break into the British market, and although (much to my delighted surprise) my books have been published in the US, Canada and Europe, this will be the first of my titles coming out in the UK.
“What with May’s coronation fever, no prizes for guessing why my lovely publishers, Harper Collins, decided to lead off with a novel that reveals what really went on in the palace – and high society – at the dawn of the swinging sixties. I can’t wait for UK readers to travel with Blaise Hill, a feisty young Sydney journalist from the wrong side of the tracks as she’s despatched to London to report on Princess Margaret’s controversial marriage.
“Blaise quickly finds herself drawn into an elite world of glamour and intrigue, royal scandal and espionage in high places. Haunted by a threat from her past and torn between two very different men, who can she trust in a world of hidden motives and shifting alliances? If you loved the first two series of The Crown, I think you will love The Royal Correspondent.”
