Celebrating Australian Music: Pax Musica

  • Trinity College Chapel Trinity Street Cambridge, England, CB2 1TQ United Kingdom (map)

A luminous evening of choral music celebrating love, hope and praise, Pax Musica brings together works by Australian and British composers in the soaring surroundings of Trinity College Chapel, Cambridge.

Presented by Celebrating Australian Music (CAM), this free concert explores secular and sacred themes inspired by peace, renewal and the natural world. The programme takes its name from Pax Musica - meaning peaceful music - by Thomas Pitfield and features a rich tapestry of music in which images of birds, flight and song recur as symbols of consolation and joy.

Directed by Australian composer and conductor Wendy Hiscocks, the concert includes several UK and world premieres, showcasing contemporary voices alongside much-loved choral works. Performances by the Trinity College Choir, under the direction of Augustine Cox, promise an evening of warmth, reflection and beauty.

Open to the public and free to attend.
