Call for entries: Australia & New Zealand Film Festival 2026

FANZA is excited to announce that our Australia & New Zealand Film Festival (ANZFF), presented in partnership with the London Australia Film Society, returns to London from 30 January - 1 February 2026.

Next year’s festival will take place again at Finsbury Park Picturehouse, showcasing the best new short films by Australian, New Zealand and Pacific storytellers living in the UK, as well as some brilliant feature films.

We are now inviting submissions for our Short Film Showcase, which will screen as part of a live Q&A event during the festival.

Eligibility

We welcome short films that:

• Are under 30 minutes

• Include significant Australian, New Zealand or Pacific creative involvement
  (for example: filmed there, set there, or featuring Aus/NZ/Pacific characters or talent)

• Are made by UK-based filmmakers or key creatives (or those based nearby)

• Can be represented at the festival in person

Films can be submitted via FilmFreeway, where you’ll also find full terms and conditions.
A nominal entry fee applies, but filmmakers may request a waiver code.

Deadline: 8 December 2025

This is a fantastic opportunity for emerging and established filmmakers to have their work screened in a cinema setting, meet peers from across the diasporic creative community and take part in a live discussion about their practice.
