Australia House Creatives launches to champion Australian talent in the UK
The Australian High Commission in the UK has launched Australia House Creatives, a new initiative designed to nurture and elevate Australian creative talent in the UK.
The programme was launched at Australia House with an event showcasing Australian artists across opera, indie-pop, electronic music, spoken word, comedy, dance and visual art.
The evening was MC’d by Australian comedian Adam Hills, with Her Excellency Sam Mostyn AC, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, attending as guest of honour.
Artists featured at the launch included COE Gallery, Sarah Prestwidge, Lyla Levy Jordan, Jess Abrahams, Rachkwa, Milan Ring, Tiago Stelow, Sir Jude, Restless Dance Theatre and Zoha Bzeekhan.
The launch marks the start of the Australia House Creatives programme, which will champion Australian talent in the UK and help create pathways for the next generation of artists to reach international audiences.
The initiative reflects the growing visibility of Australian artists in the UK, and the importance of building networks, opportunities and platforms for creative exchange.
The launch event was supported by NAB, with drinks supplied by Papa Salt Gin.
