International travel fund announced for Australian authors and illustrators

A fresh wave of exciting creative talent could be coming to the UK as Australian authors and illustrators are being offered support to travel internationally to attend events and activities associated with the international publication and promotion of their work.

Creative Australia, formerly the Australia Council for the Arts and the Australia Council, the country's official arts council serving as an arts funding and advisory body for the Government of Australia, is inviting individuals or international literary organisations to apply to support authors and illustrators to attend events and activities associated with publication and promotion of their work in international markets including in the UK. Proposals should include a programme of activities designed to engage international readers.

The funding may assist with international air fares and other travel costs associated with participation in literary festivals, book tours or other promotional events. Contributions of $5,000 per successful applicant are available.
