Australian author and screenwriter Jordan Prosser comes to the UK this September for a series of events around his second novel, Blue Giant.
Published on 24 September, Blue Giant follows Abby Horne, a woman in her early thirties whose ambitions have repeatedly failed to take off. Against the backdrop of a planet in crisis, a drunken night gives her an unexpected new purpose: becoming the first person on Mars.
The darkly comic novel explores millennial ambition, anxiety and the search for meaning in an increasingly uncertain world.
Melbourne-based Prosser won the Peter Carey Short Story Award in 2022. His debut novel, Big Time, was shortlisted for the Matt Richell Award for New Writer of the Year at the Australian Book Industry Awards and the Aurealis Award for Best Science Fiction Novel, and longlisted for the RSL Ondaatje Prize.
His UK tour begins in London on 23 September, with further appearances in the capital before dates in Manchester and Edinburgh.
