Australian musical theatre star Stefanie Jones will make her West End debut this September, taking on the iconic role of Fantine in Les Misérables at London’s Sondheim Theatre.

Jones joins the long-running production from Monday 7 September, following an acclaimed run as the title character in the UK and Ireland tour of Mary Poppins. She previously played Mary Poppins in Australia, where the performance earned her a Sydney Theatre Award for Best Leading Performance in a Musical.

Her arrival marks another major UK milestone for the Australian performer, who now steps into one of musical theatre’s best-known roles. Fantine’s songs include the much-loved I Dreamed a Dream.

Les Misérables, now in its 41st year in the West End, has been seen by more than 150 million people in 57 countries and has won more than 275 major awards worldwide. The production continues at the Sondheim Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue, with tickets currently on sale until March 2027.
