FLUID – FLINTA Artists Interpret the Self

  • The Artists Gallery, Art Academy London 185c Park Street London, England, SE1 9BL United Kingdom (map)

FLUID brings together a powerful selection of FLINTA (Female, Lesbian, Intersex, Non-Binary, Trans and Agender) artists exploring identity through contemporary self-portraiture. Curated by painters Sarah Jane Moon (British-New Zealand) and Sadie Lee, the exhibition creates an intergenerational dialogue about visibility, belonging and the evolving language of the painted self.

Featuring work by Victoria Cantons, Brogan Bertie, Joline Kwakkenbos and others, the show highlights the breadth of experience and artistic expression within queer, trans and non-binary communities. The portraits examine how gender, identity and representation intersect, while showcasing the versatility of paint as a medium for introspection and reinvention.

Through these intimate, considered works, FLUID presents a conversation across time, style and lived experience - offering viewers a vivid glimpse into what it means to see and be seen.
