Michael Robotham's new thriller Tell Me Something True - UK publication

Bestselling Australian crime writer Michael Robotham returns this September with his new novel, Tell Me Something True.

Set in a small Australian town, the thriller follows Arlo Hackett as he returns home after serving 12 years in prison. The last time Arlo was there, his brother Luke was charged with a terrible crime and Arlo found himself condemned by association.

His homecoming reopens old wounds in a community that has neither forgotten nor forgiven him, forcing Arlo to confront what really happened all those years ago.

Described by its UK publisher as a story of love, loss, heartbreak and murder, Tell Me Something True is Robotham's twentieth novel and combines crime and mystery with a wider story about family, memory, justice and the long aftermath of violence.

Robotham is one of Australia's most successful crime writers. A former investigative journalist, his psychological thrillers have been translated into more than 20 languages, while his honours include two Ned Kelly Awards and the UK's Ian Fleming Steel Dagger.

Early praise for the new book has come from fellow crime writers including Michael Connelly, Karin Slaughter, Val McDermid and Liz Nugent.

Tell Me Something True will be published in the UK in hardback by Little, Brown on 29 September 2026, priced £22.
