Aotearoa New Zealand comedy-drama Holy Days will be released in UK cinemas this August, giving audiences the chance to catch the warm-hearted road movie on the big screen.
Directed and written by Nathalie Boltt, the film is a New Zealand / Canada co-production based on the novel by beloved New Zealand author Joy Cowley.
Set in 1970s Aotearoa, Holy Days follows a grieving young boy who finds refuge with three eccentric elderly nuns at a rundown convent facing closure. What begins as a local mission becomes an unlikely road trip about loss, faith, courage and found whānau.
The film stars Judy Davis, Miriam Margolyes, Jacki Weaver, Elijah Tamaki, Craig Hall, Jonny Brugh and Nathalie Boltt.
Holy Days has already screened at international festivals including TIFF Industry Selects, Santa Barbara International Film Festival and Victoria Film Festival, where it was the Opening Gala selection.
UK audiences can see Holy Days in cinemas from Friday 14 August. Check local Picturehouse and ODEON listings for screening times and ticket availability.
