Australian-born performer Sam Harrison takes on all twenty-two characters in Jeeves Takes Charge, a one-man revival of the Olivier Award-winning comedy based on the beloved stories of P.G. Wodehouse.
The production sees Harrison switch between Jeeves, Bertie Wooster, Florence Craye, Gussie Fink-Nottle, Bingo Little, Uncle Willoughby, Aunt Dahlia and more in a fast-paced solo performance packed with comic timing, wordplay and Wodehousean chaos.
First seen more than four decades ago, Jeeves Takes Charge returns to London for a limited run at Charing Cross Theatre, following showcase productions at Jermyn Street Theatre, The Tabard Theatre and Theatre Royal Bath.
Set in Wodehouse’s gloriously absurd world of country houses, formidable aunts, romantic misunderstandings and gentlemanly panic, the show follows Bertie Wooster as his ever-resourceful valet Jeeves attempts to save him from disaster — and matrimony.
Harrison’s stage credits include work in the West End, at Chichester Festival Theatre and with the Royal Shakespeare Company, making this a rare chance to see an Australian-born performer tackle one of British comedy’s most enduring comic worlds.
