Multi-award-winning New Zealand musician and actor Troy Kingi makes his London debut this August with a live show at Colours Hoxton.
Kingi, who is Te Arawa, Ngāpuhi and Te Whānau-ā-Apanui, is known for his genre-crossing approach to music, moving between blues, soul, funk, folk, reggae, psychedelia and roots across an ambitious body of work.
Alongside his music career, he is also well known as an actor, with screen credits including Hunt for the Wilderpeople, Mt Zion, The Pā Boys and The Breaker Upperers.
His acclaimed 10/10/10 project — a plan to release ten albums in ten genres across ten years — has seen him build one of Aotearoa New Zealand’s most distinctive and wide-ranging catalogues.
The Colours Hoxton show offers UK audiences a rare chance to catch one of Aotearoa’s most compelling contemporary artists live in an intimate East London setting.
