Open Call: British Council’s 2025 Connections Through Culture Grants

Art

The British Council has opened applications for its 2025 Connections Through Culture grants, supporting creative collaboration between New Zealand and the UK.

These grants are designed to foster new artistic relationships, spark fresh ideas, and support collaborative projects across a wide range of art forms. Artists, collectives and cultural organisations from both countries are encouraged to apply — with the essential requirement that each project must involve one New Zealand partner and one UK partner.

Grants of up to £5,000 are available, with projects able to take place between 1 October 2025 and 31 October 2026. This is a highly competitive fund with limited awards available, so applicants are advised to read the guidance documents carefully before applying.

The deadline for applications is Monday 23 June 2025.

Eligibility and key information:

  • Open to all art forms
  • Collaborative projects between UK and NZ-based partners
  • Activity period: 1 Oct 2025 – 31 Oct 2026
  • Grant amount: Up to £5,000 per project
