The inaugural OzLit Festival comes to Foyles, Charing Cross Road this October, bringing together nine acclaimed writers for a day celebrating Australian writing and ideas under the theme The Next Chapter.
The line-up features Tim Winton, Alexis Wright, Santilla Chingaipe, Heather Morris, Kathy Lette, Evie Wyld, Intan Paramaditha, Lucia Osborne-Crowley and Laura Elizabeth Woollett, spanning fiction, history, memoir and more.
Four-time Miles Franklin Award winner and twice Booker Prize-shortlisted Tim Winton will open the festival in an exclusive conversation livestreamed from Western Australia, ahead of the publication of his new memoir in essays, Songs from the Firefront. In a rare festival appearance, Miles Franklin and Stella Prize winner Alexis Wright will join live from Melbourne.
The other seven authors will appear in person at Foyles, including international bestseller Heather Morris, Puberty Blues author Kathy Lette, award-winning British-Australian novelist Evie Wyld, historian and filmmaker Santilla Chingaipe, and writers Intan Paramaditha, Lucia Osborne-Crowley and Laura Elizabeth Woollett.
OzLit Festival is an initiative of FANZA, in partnership with the Australian High Commission and Foyles, and is produced by Vivienne Wordley, FANZA Ambassador, and Rina Gill of Tiger Team Creative.
The full programme and ticketing details will be announced on Tuesday 1 September.
