Steven McRae joins Vasko Vassilev for new Linbury Theatre project

  • Royal Opera House Bow Street London, England, WC2E 9DD United Kingdom (map)

Australian Royal Ballet Principal Steven McRae joins acclaimed violinist Vasko Vassilev for a new collaboration bringing dance and live music together at the Linbury Theatre this September.

The McRae / Vassilev Project sees the two performers join forces with director Natalie Abrahami for a new creation inspired by the music and virtuosity of violinist Niccolò Paganini. McRae's ballet and tap dancing meet Vassilev's violin playing in a production designed to showcase the distinctive artistry of both performers.

The project is choreographed by Loughlan Prior, with additional choreography by McRae and music arrangements by Vassilev and Pamela Tan Nicholson.

Performances run from 11-19 September 2026 at the Linbury Theatre, Royal Opera House.

Tickets are currently sold out, but audiences can check the Royal Ballet and Opera website for returns.
